BILL SMITH
I explored the complexity and strangeness of the world. I see art as a fuzzy discipline with its tendrils in all types of study. By creating abstract, behavioral forms that use nature as a template, I hope to make visible something fundamental that is hidden. I am interested in how science and technology will shape the future. I believe contemporary art has a role in this evolution. My work is science and technology based and inspired by nature. Nurturing the kinship between mans technological future and nature’s mechanistic foundation will help in the creation of a sustainable world. Art is born of the observation and investigation of nature. Cicero

This sculpture was really traumatic to make... it's for an exhibition called multi solo the future is nature in Holland,
this baby was subjected to radiation, so has multiple malformations it's called a tragedy of errors; Tesla's Angst if we as a species don't change the way we generate energy, by depleting the earth and by means of dangerous way's like nuclear energy, we will always have tragedies like Fukushima and Chernobyl.. and we will mess up life for our offspring... this baby will be in a hospital bed, and the placenta and umbilicus connected, inside the umbilicus will be an MP3 player with sounds of a Geiger counter... the sheets will be a photograph of the Universe we should look at the work of Nocola Tesla and generate safe and free Energy |
